I would say like I use to think that your style and fashion sense is your identity but I feel like nowadays like there’s so much more to it. I kind of think of myself, like, I think more about what I like and my principles and stuff. And that’s like my identity rather than my clothing because my clothing changes all the time. Ugh but then also I feel like I get so bogged down like oh but that’s one aesthetic and that’s another aesthetic and I’m like I need to remind myself that I can have more than one aesthetic do you know what I mean?

Like some days I’m like no only black - I want to be really Scandinavian looking. Other days I’m like I want to look really hippie and like long flowy dresses and crazy hair. And it's like I feel like I can’t do both but then I also feel you can do more than one style.

But then I feel there’s a lot of pressure to like have your thing and If you kind of step out of it then your no longer you - but really that’s not true, you can be more than one thing

It feels like you’re putting yourself in a box and once you’re put in a box you can like get out of it. If you start dressing a certain way and then suddenly change, and wear something else, its considered really drastic. I don’t really know if that makes sense but yeah

Another thing is, because trends are moving so quickly lately, its like I can’t even keep up with them. If I want to dress trendy one day and then its already bloody changed and then, you know, once you’ve bought the top its already out of style and its just like a) its really bad for the environment but b) it just stressful to find something to wear, so I actually find it easier to just wear what I want rather than like fit in with what’s trendy but then sometimes Im thinking do I like this or do I only like it because its trendy because there’s stuff I wear now that I wouldn’t of liked a while ago and I’m like does this mean I won’t like it in a few months but I guess that fashion - changes all the time but then that kind of one thing I don’t like about it - I sometime just want it to stay can we just have a few moments to breath on this trend before we move onto another one, I haven’t even processed the last five like its just so stressful anyway first world problems.

I know what you mean. I just feel the question what should I wear is actually so complicated now. Like with subcultures back in the day you could almost guess their principles and their morals just by looking at them but now I feel like no one could guess anything about me just through what I wear. You’re appearance, whether we like it or not, is someone first impressions of you. That’s why, you know, getting dressed up for a job interview is such a big deal.

But nowadays more and more fashion is unrelated to that persons internal makeup and that may be a good thing, that it’s harder to make assumptions based on appearance, but for me I find it fucking confusing when asking my self, what should I wear?
